“Leadership is a one-person job.”

While I love working one-on-one to help chief executives perform at their peak, there is something very special about getting a group of leaders on the same page about how they’ll lead.

And that’s exactly what I’m getting to do this week! The organisation was particularly insightful in their desire to combine two things:

  1. Making sure that the senior leaders (including the CEO) all have a common understanding of how to enable teams to deliver “over the odds” results and the opportunity to start developing these skills in the training sessions (without awkward role-playing); and
  2. Particularly focusing the follow-up support to help leaders practically refine their coaching skills so they can work on embedding a coaching culture in the organisation.

So their very own version of “Driving a high-performance culture” was born!

Perhaps that is actually the thing I love most about my job. Getting to know a business and what they are trying to achieve; working with them to figure out what will help get them there; and then designing or customising an approach to suit. Nothing is more rewarding.
